Outreach Program

For Business and Industry
The NDSCS Center for Nanoscience Technology Training (CNTT) will offer workforce development and training opportunities for initial skill development, technical upgrading, and professional growth of incumbent workers. Our goal is to provide education and training that utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and facilities, flexible and responsive delivery methods, qualified trainers, and quality materials. We enable businesses to enhance performance and productivity through tailored training, workshops, seminars, and open enrollment classes. Training is provided at our Applied Science and Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory (ASAML) facility in the CNTT in Fargo, ND.

The Applied Science and Advanced Manufacturing Laboratory serves as a central training facility for emerging technology, industry based skill development in North Dakota and the upper midwest. The ASAML is designed to provide a single educational and training enviornment through which multidisciplinary industry-relevant skill training is delivered. As such, the ASAML  facilitates student interaction and foster multidisciplinary team approaches to problem solving while making the most effective use of equipment. The ASAML supports and facilitates education and training applicable to the following areas: nanotechnology, bio-fuels technology, biotechnology, microelectronics technology and micromanufacturing technology.

The staff of the CNTT-ASAML hold advanced degrees and/or extensive industry experience in the following areas: biochemistry, molecular biology, organic chemistry, microbiology, chemical engineering, automated manufacturing, electronics, and machine tooling. The CNTT actively seeks industry collaborations which allow students/trainees to be exposed to actual industry based work senarios through contract for work arrangements between the industry partner and CNTT or by some other means.
